WOW! I should have blogged after every day of our very busy weekend becasue there are a lot of great moments to share. Kevin and Tania (Trevor's sister) and Grayson's only 2 cousins, Elijah and Josiah, were here this weekend for a visit. We packed as much fun as possible into 31/2 days. On Friday, after we had initial hellos and dinner, we headed out to the yard to enjoy the cool evening and play some basketball. The boys took turns scoring, and Aunt Tania was a great sideline cheerleader. Elijah even joined in because it took Grayson a while sometimes to actually score a basket. Natalie, the cheer couldn't stand a torch to yours, but holding a 9 month old kept her feet firmly planted on the ground!!

Saturday was a jammies day as the men headed out to see Transformers. The mommies and the boys enjoyed a quiet morning just visiting and watching the cousins interact and play. The imaginations were hard at work. Elijah and Grayson played so well together we went down the hall to check on them several times! They were playing on the top bunk, once pretending it was a trai that they were fixing, another they were cooking food. Tania and I enjoyed some quie
t time together just being able to talk and dig a little deeper and catch up. After a great supper cooked by Trevor, we went down to the Oceanfront. It was a perfect evening! The crowd was sparse, the air and water warm, and a slight breeze. We started off with a great view from atop the Hilton Parking garage. You can see for miles! After having to walk down all the stairs because the elevator was on the blink, we went down to the water. The boys even passed by the playground to get straight down to the water. With only having been to the beach a couple of times, Elijah immediately wanted in the water. The daddies took the boys out into the waves which were the biggest I've ever seen in VB! Grayson tuckered out early because even though the water was warm, the air was quite cold. I loved to see Trevor out in the waves. It's always great for me to watch him totally relax and enjoy himself and unwind and just be. He did some wave riding and I even captured some of it with the camera!! Tania and I were content to watch the boys in the sand. Josiah got his chubby little feet into the sand for the first time ever! What a sight to see the little faces when they have not had that experience before. We stayed until the sun went down and then packed up to get a good night's rest before Church the next morning.

Sunday was Church day. Four adults, 2 kids, and a baby with 1 bathroom to share all got to Church on time!!! They loved visiting Shores with us! Although Grayson had a meltdown even before getting to class (which come to find out later in the afternoon it was because I didn't say good-bye before I left to go to Kids Thang and Trevor took him to class!!) Elijah had a great time in Treasure Cove! He loved the teacher and talked nonstop about the morning. Dad and Mom were very happy that he was engaged this morning and excited. They visited Kids Thang at 11:00 and loved it as well. As soon as we got home Elijah was talking to me all about the lesson that I taught that morning and asking questions--he is very bright and also a new Christian so all of that is very exciting for him and us!! The boys all napped in the afternoon, which allowed us to play some more cards. We are all avid Spades players, so if any you read this and find that we have that in common, let us know and we'd love to get together to play! It was pizza night so we went to the Locks Park to play since it was close. Again it was a great time to see the boys interacting and playing and chasing each other! They don't get to see each other that often. After the boys got pizza, we ate around the table and laughed together. They decided that they hadn't had enough so they decided to stay for the day on Monday too. After putting the boys to bed, we again played cards--way too late! Why do we do that when we know the boys will be up early!!

I'm signing off for now--I'll have to add Monday's fun later. If I don't ya'll will be tired of reading and I'm afraid that this one posting might take up the whole page. Although, some of ya'll are longwinded too and everyhting seems to fit! Come back later for the Monday posting from Busch Gardens!

Jayne, Loved reading about your fun filled weekend. Wow! the waves did look big. It makes it more fun. It's harder holding onto those slippery little ones. We love playing any kind of games so we'll play cards anytime with you guys. Craig loves card tricks and would love a new captive audience I know for sure. He thinks he's so slick and tricky:) Both the pictures of you and Grayson are so cute.
P.S. Don't worry about being too long winded because I'm probably one of the ones you were talking about HA! It's so hard to get all the details without writing a novel.
Uh-Oh - sounds like we have some game players among us!!! We love spades - but haven't found another couple to indulge us!!! Sounds like you had a FABULOUS time with Tania and Kevin (and the boys of course). What fun!!! Now let's schedule a game night!
So much fun in such a short amount of time. I am glad that Grayson had a blast with his cousins. I love family weekends like this! BTW, the picture of Trevor surfing the wave is the best. Kev loves to do that when he comes in from surfing, and now Greyson follows suit. What big kids we have in our hubbies! Love the picture of you and Grayson.
